There's no place like home for Windermere Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They slipped by the Geneva Knights 7-6 on Thursday. The seven-point effort marked the Lakers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

One reason for the win was Windermere Prep's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Antonio Farah was especially locked on to Geneva's QB and sacked him twice. Koren Williams was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

When it comes to explaining why Geneva lost, don't look at Luke Gilmartin. Despite the final result, he rushed for 91 yards and one TD.

Windermere Prep's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Geneva, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Windermere Prep will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bronson at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Lakers will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.83 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Geneva, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 41-20 loss against Trinity Prep on the 10th.
