Basketball Game Preview: Gresham Gophers vs. Barlow Bruins

Gresham hasn't had much luck against Barlow recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gresham Gophers will be playing at home against the Barlow Bruins at 6:00 p.m. Gresham knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Barlow likes a good challenge.

Gresham is returning to their home court after beating Nelson on theirs, despite the fact Nelson has dominated at home this season. Gresham walked away with a 63-56 victory over Nelson on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Gophers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Nelson are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Barlow had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Everything went their way against the Rams as they made off with a 75-55 victory. With the Bruins ahead 51-24 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Barlow pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Gresham, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Things could have been worse for Gresham, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 73-59 loss to Barlow in their previous matchup back in February of 2024.
