Volleyball Recap: Coronado Falls Short Against Ranked Bishop Gorman + How To Watch

Coronado faced Bishop Gorman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cougars came up short against the Gaels, falling 3-0. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Gaels recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Coronado was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18, 25-20.

JULIE BECKHAM paced Coronado's offense, picking up 16 kills. BECKHAM got some help from TRU HALVORSEN and her 30 assists. Finally, GENTRY OBLAD kept Coronado's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Bishop Gorman, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 27-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coronado will welcome Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Gorman, they will host Foothill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
