Basketball Recap: Mancos Takes a Loss

Mancos extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-4. They took a hard 58-40 fall against the Sargent Farmers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Farmers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-38 last Saturday.

As for Sargent, they now have a winning record of 3-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Sargent found their leader in sophomore Kyler Jones, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Jones has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Kenyon Knorr was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Mancos and Sargent will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Bluejays see the court they'll take on Ouray at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2026. As for Sargent, their break will end when they face Creede at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026.
