Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain View). They put the hurt on the Dobson Mustangs with a sharp 21-1 win on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Toros sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Mountain View got a massive performance out of Keelie Goodman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave Goodman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylynn Sylvester, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Mountain View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in seven consecutive games.
Mountain View pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.
