Baseball Game Preview: Pequea Valley Braves vs. Lancaster Catholic Crusaders

Pequea Valley is 2-8 against Lancaster Catholic since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Pequea Valley will venture away from home to face off against Lancaster Catholic at 4:15 p.m. This will be Pequea Valley's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

Pequea Valley is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Schuylkill Valley. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Braves have suffered since April 10, 2024.

Pequea Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Martin, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Even though they lost, Pequea Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Schuylkill Valley struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Lancaster Catholic lost 15-4 to Twin Valley on Friday. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ty George was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Luis Velez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Lancaster Catholic now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Pequea Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Pequea Valley skirted past Lancaster Catholic 4-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will Pequea Valley repeat their success, or does Lancaster Catholic has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
