Jared Dearborn and Doug Payne provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Newport. The longest such play in Division VI this season, the connection resulted in 57 yards.
Newfound Regional extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Tigers, 32-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Bears.
Newfound Regional's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dearborn threw for 136 and one touchdown and Payne had 115 yards receiving. On the ground Tyler Maviki chipped in 210 yards. Jake Dearborn helped Newfound Regional's passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.
Keegan Dyer made the biggest impact on defense this week as Greg Dalzell's team topped Newport. The sophomore grabbed one interception and grabbed 2.0 sacks.
Newfound Regional's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Dearborn has thrown for 798 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Devin Fields has 17 catches for 244 yards. Maviki leads the league in rushing with 1224 yards.
A big matchup in Division VI this week will be when Winnisquam takes on Franklin. As it stands, the Bears are in fourth, while the Tornadoes are in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Winnisquam takes on Franklin. Pat Riberdy's team has allowed 89 points this season, while Greg Husband's team has given up 68. The Bears allowed 21 points last week as they fell to Campbell.
Campbell and Winnisquam played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Campbell eventually emerging with a 21-20 victory.
