Football Recap: Point Loma Skates Past Eastlake with Ease + How To Watch

Point Loma never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past the Eastlake Titans to the tune of 49-0. That looming 49-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pointers yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Point Loma to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryder Watson, who threw for 85 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes. What's more, Watson racked up 148.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Romeo Carter was another key receiver, gaining 40 total yards and three touchdowns.

Point Loma's run defense was locked in: Eastlake could only muster 1.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Ace Selchow for the heroic effort on defense: he. Point Loma didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.9.

Point Loma's defense didn't let Nicolas Alba., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Braeden Bartocci was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three sacks himself. Those three sacks set a new season-high mark for him. Point Loma got some further help from Selchow: he made 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

The victory keeps Point Loma at an undefeated 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.5 points on average this season. As for Eastlake, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Point Loma will square off against La Jolla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Pointers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
