Softball Recap: Immaculate Takes a Loss

Immaculate had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-14 to make it four. They fell just short of the Lakeview Bobcats by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since May 19, 2025.

Mackenzie Cooper and Laurel Pucci did some serious damage despite the final result: Cooper went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Pucci went 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Cooper's first of the season.

As for Lakeview, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

On Lakeview's side, Analese Gilmore made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Gilmore has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

Gilmore wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tatum Milanese, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Riley Sauvageau was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Immaculate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakeview, they will welcome Thomaston at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
