Volleyball Recap: Brookland Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Lexie Schuermann and Ashlyn Ussery

Brookland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Conway Wampus Cats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearcats of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Brookland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Brookland had strong showings from Ashlyn Ussery, who had seven digs and three aces, and Lexie Schuermann, who had seven digs and two assists.

Brookland's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Conway, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Brookland will face off against Wynne at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Conway, they will host Little Rock Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Wampus Cats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
