Softball Game Preview: Cane Bay Cobras vs. Stratford Knights

The Cane Bay Cobras are taking a road trip to square off against the Stratford Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cane Bay couldn't beat Wando on Wednesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the seventh inning. The Cobras took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors.

Charlet Reed made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run. Cadence Adkins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Stratford fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Lucy Beckham on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bengals by a score of 8-7. The Knights' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Stratford's loss dropped their record down to 4-10-1. As for Cane Bay, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Cane Bay took their victory against Stratford when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cobras since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
