Auburn has gone a perfect 4-0 against Greenfield/Northwestern recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Auburn's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Greenfield/Northwestern's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Auburn is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Olympia just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Trojans have suffered since May 31, 2024.

Auburn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Carlisle, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double was Carlisle's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Greenfield/Northwestern hadn't done well against West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tigers walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Cougars. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Kalynn Weller was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Kylie Cox was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Auburn's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-3. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Auburn took their victory against Greenfield/Northwestern in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-6 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
