Basketball Game Preview: Leavitt Hornets vs. Morse Shipbuilders

Leavitt and Morse are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Leavitt Hornets will welcome the Morse Shipbuilders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Leavitt came up short against Lincoln Academy and fell 56-44. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Morse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-37 heartbreaker at the hands of Erskine Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Shipbuilders have suffered since January 4th.

Leavitt's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Morse, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Leavitt came up short against Morse when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 57-50. Can Leavitt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
