Softball Game Preview: Thoreau Hawks vs. Newcomb Skyhawks

Thoreau is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Newcomb Skyhawks at 3:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Thoreau couldn't beat McCurdy on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Hawks fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 8-7.

Newcomb couldn't beat Rehoboth Christian on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Skyhawks lost 23-7 to the Lynx.

Billrayiikaso Howard made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nihikinibaa Howard, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Newcomb's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Thoreau, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
