Football Recap: Ore City Comes Up Short

Ore City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 26-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Union Grove Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 45-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Union Grove found their leader in sophomore Brycen Porter, who rushed for 35 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 105 yards and one TD.

Ore City now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Union Grove, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Ore City and Union Grove will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Rebels see the field they'll take on Elysian Fields at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Union Grove, their break will end when they face Harleton at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
