Basketball Game Preview: Vineland Fighting Clan vs. Egg Harbor Township Eagles

Vineland and Egg Harbor Township are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Vineland Fighting Clan will challenge the Egg Harbor Township Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Vineland is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 26, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against Delsea, falling 59-39. The contest marked the Fighting Clan's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Egg Harbor Township entered their tilt with Pemberton on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 74-45 victory over the Hornets. That 29 point margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Egg Harbor Township pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Vineland, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Vineland came up short against Egg Harbor Township in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 91-79. Can Vineland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
