Softball Recap: Jefferson West Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

While Jefferson West didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the St. Marys Bears by a score of 7-3 on Thursday. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Addison Garrett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Harriet Dean, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmie Dean, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Marys, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.
