Basketball Recap: Lilly Rumrill Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat South Iredell

Mooresville proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 49) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the South Iredell Vikings out 59-56. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 45-39 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mooresville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lilly Rumrill, who posted 12 points. Cydnee Wise Smith was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Mooresville's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for South Iredell, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Mooresville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for South Iredell, they will head out to square off against Hickory Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
