Preview: Kingsway Christian Eagles vs. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints
The Kingsway Christian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Kingsway Christian and ten for Tuscarawas Central Catholic dating back to last season.
Kingsway Christian's 28-12 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by East Palestine 71-32 on Saturday. Kingsway Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-16.
Meanwhile, Tuscarawas Central Catholic took a serious blow against Malvern on Friday, falling 66-32. While losing is never fun, Tuscarawas Central Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 592nd, while Malvern is ranked 16th).
Kingsway Christian's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Kingsway Christian took a serious blow against Tuscarawas Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in January of 2019, falling 68-31. Can Kingsway Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
