Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Sets Scoring Season-High Against Athens Christian Preparatory Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Mary). They walked away with a 49-38 victory over the Athens Christian Preparatory Academy Storm on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in November of 2024.

Camille Reid and Kiley Normandin certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Reid almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds, while Normandin almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. Normandin is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

The win got St. Mary's back to even at 5-5. As for Athens Christian Preparatory Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Mary's will face off against Trinity School of Texas at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary's is facing Trinity School of Texas at the right time seeing as Trinity School of Texas is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Athens Christian Preparatory Academy, they will challenge Regents Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 21st.
