After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Trinity, Southern was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Butler Bears with a sharp 10-4 win. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Richard Hernandez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hernandez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Enzo Alcina, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Bronson Taylor Jr was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

The victory got Southern back to even at 1-1. As for Butler, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern will face off against Christian Academy-Louisville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Butler, they will square off against Whitefield Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
