Recap: Greater Lowell Tech Gryphons vs. Northeast Metro RVT Knights
The Greater Lowell Tech Gryphons''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 28-8 loss at the hands of Northeast Metro RVT. Greater Lowell Tech was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northeast Metro RVT apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Northeast Metro RVT can attribute much of their success to Devin Nieves, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
Greater Lowell Tech's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.3 points per game. As for Northeast Metro RVT, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greater Lowell Tech will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Lunenburg at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Lunenburg is ranked 203rd, while Greater Lowell Tech is ranked 213th). As for Northeast Metro RVT, they will head out on the road to face off against Georgetown/Pentucket Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
