Compass Academy strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Monahans Loboes. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 8-5 victory on Saturday.

CANYON BOWNDS made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Compass Academy let GAVIN CRANFILL and JACKSON CLARK run wild. CRANFILL got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while CLARK went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. CLARK has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was BRADEN HOGAN, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Compass Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Compass Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Monahans, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Compass Academy will take on Ropes in a tournament on Thursday. As for Monahans, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sonora at 4:00 p.m.
