Softball Recap: Our Lady of the Lakes Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shrine Catholic, Our Lady of the Lakes was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 13-8 win over the Whitmore Lake Trojans.

Kaitlyn Comerford was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. Comerford was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Molly Ronquillo and Kennidy Koshorek did most of the damage at the plate: Ronquillo went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Koshorek went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Hailey Hutsell was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Our Lady of the Lakes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Our Lady of the Lakes' victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5. As for Whitmore Lake, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Our Lady of the Lakes beat the Trojans by a score of 10-6 later that day.
