Smithville took down Biggersville 53-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Seminoles led 1A Region 1 in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on the Lions.
Cody Jenkins provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Vardaman beat Coldwater. He completed five passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 206 yards. Jenkins' favorite target this week was James Avant, who caught one pass for 32 yards.
RJ Johnson was the best wideout in the league this week as Houlka lost to Falkner. Johnson racked up one reception for 70 yards. Larry Jones helped Houlka's passing attack out by catching two balls for 42 yards.
Jase Stroupe put up the best numbers through the air as the Eagles defeated the Wildcats. He finished with a total of seven completions for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Stroupe's favorite target this week was Ethan Prather, who caught four passes for 45 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Blake Stacy of Biggersville is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1038. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns. On the ground, Falkner's Jeramie Lawrence has rushed for 1329 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Avant. The Vardaman star has 16 catches for 376 yards.
A big matchup in 1A Region 1 this week will be when Byers takes on Thrasher. The Lions are in sixth place, while the Rebels are in second place.
Thrasher featured an ironclad defense this week, and led the league in points allowed with 0.
