            Baseball Recap: Hugoton Eagles vs. Elkhart Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Hugoton was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elkhart Wildcats. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
 Corbin Nix spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
 At the plate, Hugoton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Justin Quevedo, who  went 1-for-2 with one  triple and one  run.
Hugoton's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Elkhart, the  victory (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Hugoton by a score of  8-2 later that day.
