Baseball Recap: Elkin Takes a Loss

Elkin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Stokes Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Tuesday.

Elkin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Thomas, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Elkin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for North Stokes, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Elkin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-4 loss against East Wilkes on the 18th. As for North Stokes, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Starmount on the 18th.
