Preview: Southwest Leadership Academy Rams vs. Adobe Mountain
The Southwest Leadership Academy Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against Adobe Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwest Leadership Academy will be looking to keep their 14-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Southwest Leadership Academy stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Alta Vista Charter 56-23 at home. Given Southwest Leadership Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Alta Vista Charter is ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southwest Leadership Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Serious Sykes, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 19 rebounds. Sykes is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ayden Gonzales, who scored six points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Adobe Mountain was fully in charge back in December of 2023, breezing past Pan-American 69-42 at home. The win was just what Adobe Mountain needed coming off of a 78-45 loss in their prior match.
Southwest Leadership Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Adobe Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
