Volleyball Recap: Prentice Takes Down Ranked Gresham Community

Prentice faced Gresham Community in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Buccaneers put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Prentice found their leader in sophomore Sophie Staroba, who had ten digs and three aces. Staroba is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

Prentice was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gresham Community only served four aces.

Prentice now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gresham Community, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Prentice didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Butternut on the 26th. As for Gresham Community, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Northeastern Wisconsin Lutheran/Providence Academy on the 26th.
