Mount Union hasn't had much luck against Tussey Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Mount Union Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Tussey Mountain Titans at 7:15 p.m. Mount Union is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
On Saturday, Mount Union was able to grind out a solid win over East Juniata, taking the game 50-39. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly 11 points.

Mount Union's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Maddie Dimoff, who posted 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, and Cailyn Skopic, who had 16 points along with five assists and five steals. With that strong performance, Dimoff is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.
Meanwhile, Tussey Mountain really took it to Fannett Metal for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-18 victory. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.
Tussey Mountain's win came from a few key players Mount Union will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brianna Gabrielson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maelee Sheeder, who went 6 for 7 on her way to 14 points.
Tussey Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Mount Union's record now sits at 5-7. As for Tussey Mountain, their record is now 11-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mount Union has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 25.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Tussey Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Mount Union might still be hurting after the 50-30 loss they got from Tussey Mountain when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Mount Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
