Basketball Game Preview: St. Scholastica Doves vs. Zachary Broncos

St. Scholastica is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Zachary is on a eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The St. Scholastica Doves will welcome the Zachary Broncos at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, St. Scholastica was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 63-58 to Archbishop Hannan. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Doves still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Zachary made easy work of Liberty Magnet on Tuesday and carried off a 68-43 win. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.

Zachary is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points over those games. As for St. Scholastica, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 20-6.
