Geraldine gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the New Hope Indians. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Geraldine got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 20-25, 15-10.
Despite the defeat, New Hope saw an underclassman step up: freshman Stella Reed had 17 assists.
