Geraldine gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the New Hope Indians 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since October 1, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Geraldine got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 20-25, 15-10.

Karlie Baker paced Geraldine's offense, picking up nine kills. Baker got some help from Piper Summerville and her 25 assists. Lana Rowell controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Coincidentally, Geraldine and New Hope will both be playing Southside the next time they take the court. The Indians will head out to face the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
