Baseball Recap: Plainfield North Triumphs

Plainfield North proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Montini Catholic Broncos 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since May 8, 2025.

Plainfield North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Montini Catholic, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Plainfield North will challenge Yorkville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montini Catholic, they will square off against Elk Grove at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
