Softball Recap: Lyons Comes Up Short

Lyons couldn't beat Marion on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Lions fell just short of the Black Knights by a score of 7-6. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Rylee Richardson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Kamryn Bonnell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Lyons' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 12-5. As for Marion, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Lyons has already played their next matchup (against Gananda Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Marion, they will take on Williamson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Marauders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something the Black Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
