St. Anthony won the last time they faced Effingham and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Hearts. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Aiden Lauritzen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other pitching news, Joseph Tegeler looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Brady Hatton was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brock Fearday, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

St. Anthony has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Effingham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-9.

St. Anthony has already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Paris on the 21st. As for Effingham, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 defeat against Highland on the 20th.
