Baseball Preview: Springfield Cougars vs. Strath Haven Panthers        
        
		
            
 Springfield is 2-8 against Strath Haven since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Wednesday. The Springfield Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Strath Haven Panthers at 3:45  p.m. Both teams come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 On Monday, Springfield had just enough and edged Penncrest out  4-3.
  Sean Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Springfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Michael Turner, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jake Lennon, who  went 1-for-3 with a  stolen base and two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, in what's become a running theme this season, Strath Haven gave their fans yet another huge  win on Monday. They never let Harriton onto the board and left with  a   6-0  victory.
 The team  relied heavily on  Jake McDonough, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  RBI and a  double.  Ben Milligan was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Springfield pushed their record up to 7-9 with that  win, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Strath Haven, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Springfield has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.2  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Strath Haven struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 8.8. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Springfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Strath Haven  in their previous meeting  back in April, sneaking past  8-7. Does  Springfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Strath Haven turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
