R-S Central won the last time they faced T.C. Roberson and things went their way on Friday too. The Hilltoppers never let the Rams get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Hilltoppers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.
Hadley Freeman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. Freeman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Layna Jeffords was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Saydie Pruett also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
R-S Central has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for T.C. Roberson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
