Basketball Recap: Spring Hill Comes Up Short

Spring Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 51-38 to the Baldwin Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 22nd).

Despite the defeat, Spring Hill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jackson Bruce went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points and six rebounds. Peyton Mcevoy was another key player, putting up six points.

Baldwin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leo Schoenberger, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Cooper Carr, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Spring Hill's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Baldwin, their record now sits at 9-2.

Spring Hill will venture away from home to square off against Paola at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Spring Hill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season. Baldwin has already played their next contest, a 57-40 win against Tonganoxie on the 30th.
