Basketball Recap: Marshall Find Success

Marshall won the last time they faced Marquez and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Barristers came out on top against the Gladiators by a score of 60-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Barristers.

When it comes to explaining why Marquez lost, don't look at Elyjah Staples. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards. Staples has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Tucker, who posted 16 points and five boards.

Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Marshall will be taking part in a tournament against Westlake at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Barristers will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.38 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Marquez, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South East at 5:30 p.m.
