Volleyball Recap: Bertrand Vikings vs. Southern Valley Eagles
Bertrand was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southern Valley Eagles. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Bertrand sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 22-25, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Bertrand saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Baylee Kipp had 23 digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Kipp. Adlea Hock also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Bertrand's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Southern Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.
Bertrand didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Arapahoe on the 18th. As for Southern Valley, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against St. Patrick's on the 20th.
