Mahanoy Area won the last time they faced Our Lady of Lourdes Regional and things went their way on Thursday too. The Golden Bears blew past the Red Raiders 18-3. Considering the Golden Bears have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Lilly Carl made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Carl was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Mahanoy Area got a massive performance out of Hailey Mroczka, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Mroczka is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Connolly, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double.
Mahanoy Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Our Lady of Lourdes Regional only managed six hits.
Mahanoy Area's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 7-10. As for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
