Softball Recap: Bellwood-Antis Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Philipsburg-Osceola, Bellwood-Antis was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Penns Valley Area Rams. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Palynn Gregg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Parker Martin was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of London McKee, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Bellwood-Antis' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Penns Valley Area, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Bellwood-Antis will square off against Bedford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bisons have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Penns Valley Area, they will take on Juniata Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
