Softball Recap: Hollins Comes Up Short

Hollins lost to Dunedin back in March of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Royals fell 8-4 to the Falcons. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ava Vargas made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Hollins now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Dunedin, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Hollins will host East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Royals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dunedin, they will head out to challenge Pinellas Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
