Volleyball Recap: Thornton Academy Trojans vs. Scarborough Red Storm
Thornton Academy faced Scarborough in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Trojans fell just short of the Red Storm by a score of 3-2. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Red Storm recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Thornton Academy actually scored more points across those five sets (105-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-10.
Marta Semino paced Thornton Academy's offense, picking up 19 kills. Semino got some help from Addison Petit and her 39 assists. Allanah Greenlaw and Adelaide Bracy kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with six aces apiece.
Thornton Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Scarborough, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.
Thornton Academy has already played their next contest (against Kennebunk), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
