Basketball Game Preview: Weimar Wildcats vs. Flatonia Bulldogs

Weimar is 1-9 against Flatonia since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Weimar Wildcats will challenge the Flatonia Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Weimar will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Weimar will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Shiner, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Weimar sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 victory over Shiner on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted against the Comanches since December 9, 2022.

Meanwhile, Flatonia had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hornets 64-29.

Weimar is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Flatonia, they pushed their record up to 14-12 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Weimar came up short against Flatonia in their previous matchup on January 7th, falling 51-40. Can Weimar avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
