Basketball Recap: Concord Christian Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Fairwinds Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Concord Christian Academy). They walked away with a 28-20 victory over the Fairwinds Christian Knights on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Minutemen: when they faced off against the Knights two weeks ago, they had to take a 31-25 defeat.

Concord Christian Academy was led to victory by Abigail Veturys and Aubrey Collison. Veturys posted 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Collison dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Collison continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Joy DePace was another key player, putting up three points along with six boards and five assists.

Concord Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Concord Christian Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Fairwinds Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Concord Christian Academy will face off against Chestertown Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairwinds Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
