Basketball Recap: Wright Falls Short Against Ranked Ponchatoula

On Saturday, Wright faced Ponchatoula in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wright lost 64-40 to the Ponchatoula Green Wave. Wright has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Wright's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Ponchatoula, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 22-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wright has already played their next contest (against Morris Jeff), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ponchatoula will be playing in front of their home fans against Covington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponchatoula knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Covington likes a good challenge.
