Softball Recap: Providence Day Takes a Loss

Providence Day's last matchup with Covenant Day could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Chargers lost 8-2 to the Lions. The matchup marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Providence Day saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Glosson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base. Elizabeth Tebbit also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Providence Day's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Covenant Day, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Providence Day is set to face off against their familiar foe Charlotte Country Day School at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Covenant Day will square off against rival Charlotte Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions are on a five-game streak of home wins, the Knights a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
