Baseball Recap: Jackson Heights Takes a Loss

Jackson Heights lost against Pleasant Ridge on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cobras lost 12-2 to the Rams. The Cobras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jackson Heights saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drake Mellies, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. Hayden Schultejans also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Jackson Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Pleasant Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5-1.

Coincidentally, Jackson Heights and Pleasant Ridge will both be playing Atchison County the next time they take the field. The Cobras will host the Tigers on Thursday, while the Rams will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
